Agate Mines in Yaman

Yemeni agate rocks are scattered in volcanic areas. The main sites of the Yemeni agate mines continue from the past to the present, Mount Elhan in Aanas, west of Dhamar. These rocks are also located near Sanaa: Kholan, Jabal Nogum, Sawan and Ashar. Other veins are also found in areas of Al-Huban and Al-Rahida, in the city of Taiz. Some other deposits are also found in the volcanic areas around the cities of Aden and Mukalla.
